It must've
been Sesame Street, but somewhere in my early childhood,
I developed a love for puppetry that never went away. My
first inclination towards performance involved puppetry,
and I seemed to have a natural ability with it. For many
years, I did shows for all sorts of audiences. Like the
young Howard Stern, I even did puppet shows at nursing homes
(although with far less controversial effect!). Church services,
talent shows, vacation bible schools, civic groups, birthday
parties, school projects, you name it. I've done a lot of
puppet shows in my time.
When
I started making videos, however,
my puppetry hobby took on a new life, and these days I make
music videos wtih puppets, usually centered around my own
interests. It usually takes a couple of months to complete
a video, because I do all the performing, directing and
editing myself. These babies are true labors of love. I
hope you enjoy them!
Computer
World - 2007
After about 4 months of work, I finally completed the follow
up to Puppet Boy. Once again, combining many things
I love: computers, keyboards, Max Headroom, Kraftwerk, and
Tron! I think this video shows that my skills have improved
a lot in the intervening years since Puppet Boy.

Puppet
Boy - 2005
I started working on this video as a way to teach myself
Adobe Premiere Pro. In a kind of bizarre alignment of the
stars, I managed to combine my love for puppetry, Devo,
the Web, and video production with an all-puppet music video
for one of my favorite Devo songs from 1984, appropriately
entitled "Puppet Boy". Enjoy.

I've
always loved puppetry, and always will. The
Dark Crystal is one of my all-time favorite movies.
For puppet ministry opportunities, One Way Street's Puppet
Ministry Festivals present some of the coolest creative
outlets for kids and adults. I've ever seen.
Bottom
line: It's simply an art form that resonates with me, and
I'm always looking for ways to do more of it.
