MIDI
programming is the primary way I compose and create music.
I program and record at home, using a variety of antiquated
software and hardware methods. I typically get pretty good
results with my recordings, although I'm usually about 20
years behind the technology curve! CDs of some of my work
can be purchased here.
In 2003,
I recorded a series of demo tracks using a nifty little
software wavetable synthesizer called WinGroove.
I think of these tracks as pop songs in the making. Some
have melodies, and some don't. They aren't the best-sounding
recordings, but I think they are the best examples of my
programming skills and original musical ideas.

Projects
Here
are some examples of other artists' songs I have programmed
for various projects. These files are presented in General
MIDI format.
Naked
Eyes Live
This past year, Naked
Eyes began touring again. Although one half of the duo
(Rob Fisher) is now deceased, the remaining member (Pete
Byrne) is touring successfully with a new backup band. There
was one problem, however, in preparing for the tour: the
original synth sequences, which were programmed by Rob,
no longer existed! I was contacted and asked to help program
new versions of these classic songs, essentially reverse-engineering
them by ear, and Naked Eyes is now performing with these
tracks! Check them out, and compare them to the original
tunes!
