you see a man with a great deal of religion displayed in his

"A
man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him,
than can a lunatic put out the sun by scrawling the word 'darkness'
on the walls of his cell."

C.S. Lewis
It's never been
less fashionable in this country than right now to be a Christian,
or a Conservative. The Conservative Christian is to 21st Century
America what the Jew was to 1930s Germany.
I believe that
to be a conservative is to think for yourself, and not subject yourself
to radical liberal groups who play the part of the "Thought
Police" by attempting to crush the individual. Those on the
so-called "tolerent" Left are the ones defaming and ridiculing
the beliefs of others, especially Christians. Why?
Here's my theory:
The world hates Christians. Always have. Just as
Christ was hated, so his followers are hated, and the haters' boldness
grows with each generation. All other religions are exempt from
this hatred (you don't hear many Buddhist jokes, do you?), and are
given respect by the world. But Christianity is dissed at every
opportunity.
Granted, televangelists
give the world plenty of ammunition! What a blasphemy they are,
selling Jesus like cheap jewelry. Never send money to television
ministries. If God wants them to succeed, He'll find a way. Your
$100 only lines their pockets. Give it to the poor instead.
Anyway ...
I am a Christian.
That is, I believe that Jesus is the son of God, sent by God to
die as a ransom for his people so that we may forever be recipients
of God's grace.
I believe that
"religion" can be a dangerous construct of mankind that
can actually lead people away from knowing who God is. However,
mankind's flawed constructs do not discredit who God is any more
than a torn page in a book discredits the author. Dealing with it
is just part of living on this Earth.
My faith in
the sovereign grace of the Supreme God drives all that I do, and
is the absolute basis of who I am. If you are not a Christian, please
consider what it really means before you pass judgement. Here's

I recommend the following podcasts to all Christians.
They are an excellent way to keep your mind engaged
and focused on the things of God, especially as listened
to in earbuds as you go about your daily routines!
These broadcasts are not exercises in feel-good preaching,
but rich sources for stimulating discussions and rigorous
defenses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. |
